Get the most out of every day!  If you don't, you'll never manage to explore our entire network of trails.  Our town boasts countless marked hiking paths of its own, and if you happen to already know them, there are countless other trails and paths you can take in order to discover the entire valley.

Mountain Biking

You can look forward to lots of climbs that don't stop until you reach the summit cross itself.  As often as not, you can even traverse the summit or ridgeline, which allows you to drop back down to the valley on the far side of the mountain.  And you'll have a full range of difficulty to choose.

Archery Trail, Glemmerhof

A summer and winter pastime for the whole family, instruction and guided tours also offered by arrangement. Warm-up range, equipment to borrow.
Every Monday from 3 until 4:30 p.m., intro to archery (20 min.), free with your Viehhofen Guest Card.

Glemmy Quad and Buggy Rides

A selective quad and buggy course with all kinds of hills and curves, summer- and wintertime fun for the entire family, great for beginners as well as experienced off-road specialists.

Golf

In Saalbach, you can try your hand at a little alpine-style golfing, otherwise there are four other golf courses within a 30 km drive of here (Saalfelden-Brandlhof, Saalfelden-Maria Alm, Zell am See, Stuhlfelden-Mittersill).

Horseback Riding

is possible at the Altachhof (Saalbach), Porschehof (Zell am See), Brandlhof (Saalfelden) and in Maishofen (Harham section of town, at Club La Costa).

Windsurfing

Windsurfing is possible on the Zeller See. There is also a surf school for those who are interested.

Swimming (Outdoors)

We might not have a beach on the ocean, but that doesn't mean we can't still have lots of fun in the water.  Just a few kilometers from Viehhofen, you'll find the Zeller See, a clear mountain lake filled with water pure enough to drink. Off in the other direction, you will also discover a big outdoor pool in Saalbach.

Swimming (Indoors)

The closest indoor pools are in Zell am See (as of Oct. 2010), Kaprun and in Hinterglemm.

Tennis

As you enter Viehhofen, you will find 2 outdoor sand courts. With your Guest Card, you get to rent courts at the same price paid by club members.

Soccer

There is a soccer pitch in the town center of Viehhofen, available for anyone to use free of charge.

Inline Skating & Skateboarding

There are skate parks and bike paths, also designated for the use of inline skaters, in our neighboring towns.

Kayaking

The River Saalach is a popular kayaking area in summer, both here with us in the valley, as well as further downriver.  Summertime kayaking adventures can be booked at the tourist office, as well as through Sport Oberlader!

Rafting & Canyoning

Rafting tours on the River Salzach and canyoning expeditions can both be booked either through the tourist office or Sport Oberlader.

Mini Golf / Bike, Hike & Golf

You will find mini golf courses in our neighboring communities, incl. Saalbach, Hinterglemm and Zell am See.

16 fun golf "holes" with really original obstacles, all of which you can reach either by bike or on foot, along the "Bike, Hike & Golf" course in Maishofen.

Paragliding

First ride up on the gondola lift, then take off into the skies!  Bookable either at the tourist office in Viehhofen, or through Sport Oberlader!

Ski & Snowboard

No, that's not a mistake!  You can go skiing and boarding here in summer, too, since the glacier ski area on the Kitzsteinhorn is just a few kilometers away.
