Ski Touring

Especially with new snow on the ground, you get to enjoy deep-snow rides that other "regular" skiers can only dream of.  The spectrum ranges from challenging climbs to leisurely "ups", such as the one to the Viehhofener Geierkogel. Even skiers who aren't exactly top-flight athletes can enjoy the thrill of conquering a mountaintop - and since the hillsides are gentle, the avalanche danger is minimal.

But we must point out that, since you don't know this area very well, you should always gather as much information as possible before setting out, both with respect to general snow conditions (e.g. avalanche warnings), as well as the local aspects (check with your host).
