Caves & gorges The different sort of cooling down on hot summer days

Especially on hot summer days, caves and gorges are a really refreshing and extremely popular destination. Several of these impressive natural wonders are waiting for you in the surrounding of Viehhofen:

Sigmund-Thun-klamm Gorge in Kaprun

The Sigmund-Thun-Gorge with "Klammsee" (gorge-lake) are located in the Kaprun valley in the middle of the Hohe Tauern National Park. It is a wonderful place for hikers and those seeking relaxation.

Kitzlochklamm Gorge in Taxenbach

The unique natural spectacle with numerous idyllic bays, towering, jagged rock walls, an impressive hermitage and the spectacular bridge make the gorge a pleasure for the whole family.

Vorderkaser- & Seisenbergklamm

Vorderkaserklamm: 400 m long, 80 m deep

The extremely exciting path through the gorge leads over 51 footbridges and 35 stairs with a total of 373 steps.

Seisenbergklamm: 600 m long

Gateway to the "Weißbach Nature Park" - the Seisenbergklamm is the ideal starting point for numerous hikes.

Lamprechtshöhle Cave in St. Martin (Lofer)

With a total extension of around 51 km, the Lamprechtshöhle is one of the largest cave systems in Europe.  In the show cave part, you hike around 700 meters into the mountain.
