The end of the valley is an idyllic natural jewel at the end of the Glemmtal, which offers numerous attractions for the whole family in both summer and winter.
At the end of the valley you can embark on an exciting journey of discovery that takes you over the spectacular Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps, the highest treetop hiking trail in Europe and the adventurous high ropes park. You can enjoy the breathtaking mountain scenery and breathe in the fresh air.
The Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps is a 200 meter long suspension bridge that swings over the valley floor at a height of 42 meters. It connects the starting point of the Baumzipfelweg with the opposite bank. The Baumzipfelweg is an approximately two kilometer long circular path that takes you through the treetops at a height of up to 30 meters. Exciting stops await you along the way, such as viewing platforms, suspension bridges, slides and swings. You will also receive a green pointed cap, which makes you an official pointed hiker.
The high ropes course is another challenge for brave people who want to prove themselves at dizzying heights. The park offers various courses with different levels of difficulty, suitable for beginners and advanced skiers. Highlights include the Mega Flying Fox, a 600-meter-long zip line, and the Jump & Slide Park, a giant air cushion playground.
If you want to relax after so much action, you can fortify yourself in the cozy Lindlingalm, which serves regional specialties such as Kasnocken or ribs. Or you can visit the Teufelswasser, a world of adventure around the element of water, which invites you to linger with a Kneipp pool, water features, a barefoot path and a herb garden.
The head of the valley is easy to reach by car or bus. You can also take the fun valley-end train, which takes you back and forth between Lengau and the Lindlingalm every hour. The head of the valley is an ideal place for an unforgettable day in nature, which guarantees you and your family lots of fun and relaxation.
Directions:
You have the opportunity to explore the Glemmtal cycle path, which takes you from Maishofen via Viehhofen, Saalbach and Hinterglemm to the end of the valley. The route is approximately 42.5 km long and requires approximately 4 hours and 20 minutes. The tour has a medium level of difficulty and allows you to enjoy the beautiful landscape of the valley and mountains.
You can also drive by car via the Glemmtaler Landesstraße L111 to the head of the valley in Hinterglemm. The route is around 32 km long and takes around 40 minutes. There are several parking spaces available at the end of the valley.
Another option is bus line 680, which takes you from Viehhofen to Hinterglemm. The stop in Viehhofen is called Dorfplatz and the stop at the end of the valley is called Lengau. The journey takes approximately 25 minutes. If you have the Viehhofen Sommercard, you can use the buses throughout Pinzgau for free. You will receive the summer card when you arrive at the participating businesses in Viehhofen.
High Ropes Park & Mega Flying Fox Unique and unforgettable
The high ropes course is the largest in Europe and offers you over 200 different stations and 30 zip lines at different heights and levels of difficulty. Whether you are a beginner or a professional, you will find the right challenge for you and your friends here.

In the high ropes course you can not only do sports, but also enjoy nature and admire the view of the mountains. You can choose between different courses, all of which have funny names like “Flying Fox”, “Tarzan” or “King Kong”. Each course has its own highlights, such as hanging bridges, climbing walls, nets or swings. You can also try the longest zip line in Europe, which will send you flying over the lake at speeds of up to 70 km/h. The high ropes course is also ideal for groups, schools or companies that want to experience something together and strengthen their team spirit.

Tree Top Path & Golden Gate Bridge of the alps
The Baumzipfelweg leads you through the treetops of the Glemmtal over a length of one kilometer. You can admire the breathtaking mountain scenery and the diverse flora and fauna. The path is equipped with stairs, towers, platforms and bridges that ensure safety and comfort. You can also expect exciting game stations on the topics of skill, knowledge and nature.
The highlight of the Baumspitzeweg is the 200 meter long and up to 42 meter high Golden Gate Bridge. The bridge spans the head of the valley at the source of the Saalach and offers a spectacular view of the high ropes course that runs under and next to the bridge. Crossing the bridge is an unforgettable experience for all adventure seekers.
The Baumspitzeweg & Golden Gate Bridge of the Alps is open all year round and easy to reach. The natural circular route begins at the valley end car park and leads two kilometers through alpine pastures, meadows and forests. The Baumzipfelweg starts at the Lindlingalm. The way there and back can also be covered in summer with the valley train. In winter you can travel through the wonderful winter landscape either on foot or by horse-drawn sleigh.

Schnitza’s wood park Adventure playground
Schnitza Park is more than just a playground. It is a wood experience for the whole family that awaits you at the end of the Saalbach-Hinterglemm valley. In this huge adventure and adventure playground you can play, learn and have fun with wood. You will be greeted by huge wooden animals that accompany you through the park. You can live out your creativity and sense of adventure at various wooden stations that will challenge and inspire you. Educational hiking trail Interesting and worth knowing
The hiking trail in the Hinterglemm valley head is an educational and entertaining way to explore the mountains of Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Over a length of 1.5 kilometers, you will find instructions for various exercises and information about flowers and plants in the Alps along the path. You will also learn interesting facts about dangers, equipment, nutrition, drinking, safety behavior and the environment in the mountains. The hiking trail is suitable for all age groups. It is accessible from spring to autumn and can be reached with the valley-end slow train from Lengau. There are also other attractions near the hiking trail such as the Lindlingalm and the Saalalm. The hiking trail is the perfect introduction to your hiking holiday.

Wildlife Trail
The Wildlife Trail in Hinterglemm is an experience for the whole family. On a 1.2 kilometer long circular path at the end of the valley you can discover the fascinating wildlife of the Pinzgau Grass Mountains. From the curious chamois to the clever fox to the majestic ibex - here you can meet the local animals in life-size wooden figures that invite you to touch them and take photos. You can also find out exciting facts and funny details about the animal residents on informative display boards. At the end of the path there is a special surprise waiting: a real ibex enclosure where you can admire the “King of the Alps” up close. And if you solve the wildlife quiz you get at the start of the trail, you'll get an awesome wildlife ranger medal. The start and finish is the cozy Ossmannalm, where you can fortify yourself with regional delicacies.
