COVID-19 Maatregel Informatie in het Engels

New regulations since 16th of April 2022

Due to the easing of the epidemiological situation, some protective measures can be relaxed on April 16th. The 2nd COVID-19 Basic Measures Ordinance comes into force on this day and is initially valid until July 8th.

FFP2 mask requirement:

The FFP2 mask requirement only applies in closed rooms of:

  •     Hospitals, retirement and nursing homes and comparable settings,
  •     public transport and its stops as well as taxis,
  •     customer areas of vital trade,
  •     Administrative authorities for party traffic and
  •     Places of worship, unless entered for the purpose of a religious gathering such as Mass

Wearing FFP2 masks in all enclosed spaces is still recommended.

3 G rule:

3-G proof only has to be provided by visitors, employees and service providers in hospitals, old people's and nursing homes and comparable settings.

Green pass

The period of validity of vaccination certificates for a further vaccination (3rd vaccination) has been extended to 365 days.

The Mean of 2G, 2,5G & 3G Proof of 2G:

  • Evidence of a centrally approved vaccine against COVID-19 was provided:        
    • Second vaccination – not older than 180 days (at least 14 days must have elapsed between the two vaccinations).        
    • Since the 3rd of January, people who have been vaccinated with Janssen need a second vaccination in order to have a valid proof of vaccination.        
    • Vaccination (not older than 180 days) – valid immediately if there was a positive PCR test at least 21 days before the vaccination or proof of recovery was available immediately before.        
    • Further vaccination (booster vaccination) – not older than 270 days (at least 90 days must have elapsed since the last vaccination).    
  • A proof of recovery or a medical confirmation of an infection in the last 180 days, which has been confirmed by molecular biology.    
  • A notification of separation – not older than 180 days

Proof of 2,5G:

  • One of the 2G proofs
  • Proof from an authorized body of a negative result of a molecular biological test for SARS-CoV-2 (PCR test) - not older than 72 hours.

Proof of 3G:

  • One of the 2.5G proofs.    
  • Evidence from an authorized body of a negative result of a SARS-CoV-2 antigen test - not older than 24 hours.  

Entry regulations for Austria:

For a safe interaction with one another:

  •  If possible, reserve a table in advance - this minimizes waiting times.
  • Pay contactless if possible.
  • Follow the instructions of the employees.
  • Do not shake hands and share hugs.
  • Wash hands several times a day with soap and water for at least 30 seconds.
  • Avoid touching your face with uncleaned hands.
  • Sneeze or cough in the crook of your arm or in a tissue.
  • Stay at home if there are signs of illness.
