Only where you have reached by foot, have you really arrived. Therefore, we would especially recommend that you explore the surroundings of Viehhofen, as well as the Glemm valley in hiking boots. Enjoy the panoramic mountain views as well as the many smaller details of the landscape. The Pinzgauer grass mountains reach an altitude of nearly 2.000 m, attracting both easy-going hikers and ambitious summit stormers. When you eventually reach the summit, the landscape is luscious, with green rolling meadows. With a little effort, nearly every summit can be reached. On the way up to the summit, there are plenty of places to take a break, whether it be by a small, hidden mountain lake, or a stopover in one of the numerous Alpine huts.
The entire region in and around Viehhofen has been developed around hiking and tourism. A great service which should be taken advantage of, are the operating lifts in summer, which take you comfortably and swiftly to the first mountain peak from where you can continue on foot to the second, third and fourth!
