Every Tuesday afternoon in July and August, nature-loving children have the opportunity to experience the forest in a very special way! Together with our experienced trail warden, they explore the children's hiking trail and learn exciting facts about the local flora and fauna. The little explorers are introduced to the fascination of nature in a playful and enthusiastic way.

Herb Hike
A herb hike is the best way to get to know the local wild herbs. On an easy hike lasting around 2 - 2.5 hours, we discover a wide variety of plants and herbs. We learn to recognise and identify them and talk about various uses and processing options.
Each hike focusses on specific plants and plant families that we take a closer look at. The topics vary depending on the weather and season. However, the basics of collecting, drying and processing, as well as the year-round herbs - nettle, ground ivy, dandelion, ribwort plantain, etc. are fixed points on every hike.
During our hike, we will also collect some of the ingredients and then process them into a herbal product.

Every Thursday in July and August, the Berggasthof Hecherhütte invites you to cosy barbecue evenings in a unique atmosphere. At 1,250 metres above sea level, surrounded by the impressive mountain scenery of the Glemmtal valley, a very special culinary experience awaits you. Enjoy freshly grilled specialities, prepared with lots of love and regional ingredients, while the sun sinks behind the mountains. Lantern walk
When the sun slowly disappears behind the mountains and dusk falls over Viehhofen, it's time for a very special experience: our romantic lantern walk. Join us on a cosy walk along the Saalach, where the warm light of the lanterns creates a unique atmosphere.
Along the way, our guide will tell you exciting stories about Viehhofen - from the history of the village's origins to the historical copper mining in the region. The hike takes you to the Gasthof Glemmerhof, where you can end the evening in a relaxed atmosphere.
