Maypole erection

May is here, and that means it's time for the traditional maypole erection in Viehhofen! ???? On Thursday, 1 May 2025, the volunteer fire brigade invites you to a convivial day of festivities, where customs, fire brigade insights and a cosy get-together are on the programme.

A special highlight is the festively decorated maypole, which will be erected in a traditional ceremony in the afternoon. Starting in the morning, you can look forward to a varied programme that will delight young and old alike. In addition to impressive fire service demonstrations, you can explore the modern emergency vehicles and enjoy specialities. The day will be accompanied by hearty music to ensure a great atmosphere.

Whether as a family, with friends or alone - this day is the perfect opportunity to celebrate spring together and experience a piece of local tradition.

Programme:

From 11:00 am:

• A colourful programme with a vehicle show, culinary highlights, demonstrations and demonstration exercises follows.

from 03:00 pm:

• Arrival of the maypole: the tree is erected together in the traditional way - a special moment for all visitors, accompanied by music.
