Mining and Gothic Museum in Leogang

Where ore and art meet

The Mining and Gothic Museum in Leogang is a unique museum that presents the history of mining and Gothic in the Salzburg region. The museum is located in the picturesque mining village of Hütten, which has been characterized by ore mining for over 3,000 years. The highlights include the prayer nut of Mary of Burgundy, a precious reliquary from the 15th century, the Limoges cross of the Czartoryski princely family, a 900-year-old enamel work of art, and the altar of Prösels Castle, a masterpiece by Dürer's student Hans Schäuffelein.
