Museum of legends and fairy tales

The Museum of Legends and Fairy Tales is located in St. Georgen im Pinzgau in the Pinzgau municipality of Bruck an der Großglocknerstrasse. It was founded in 1989 and opened in 2014 as the first Austrian museum specializing in legends and fairy tales.

The museum offers an extensive collection of more than 1,000 different fairy tale books, pictures, everyday objects, stamps, postcards and games with fairy tale motifs. It also provides information about the history of the former community of St. Georgen-Gries and the Großglockner High Alpine Road.

The exhibition area is approximately 50 m². The St. Georgen im Pinzgau local history association is the legal entity of the museum.

The museum invites visitors to immerse themselves in the magical world of fairy tales, sagas and legends. It enables visitors to learn the origins, backgrounds and deeper meaning of fairy tales and legends.
