One of the most popular hiking routes from Viehhofen leads to the Schmittenhöhe. This hike is ideal on hot days as it mostly goes through forests. The route is about 5.9 kilometers long and takes about 2-3 hours. During the hike you have a wonderful view of the Glemmtal and, at the end of your hike, of the Zeller Basin. As you descend, there are many more opportunities to explore nature and enjoy the views.
The 10-person zellamseeXpress gondola takes you comfortably from Viehhofen to Schmittenhöhe. After enjoying the view, you can either come back down via many hiking trails or hike to the trassXpress. The hike to trassXpress takes about 1 hour. You can then comfortably travel back to the valley with the trassXpress. With the Viehhofen Sommercard you can use the cable cars free of charge.
